3 Brothers Charged In Connection With 2016 Shootout In Prince George’s County

Prosecutors say two men have pleaded guilty Tuesday to an attack on a Prince George’s County police station in 2016 that claimed the life of an officer.

Elijah Ford pleaded guilty to a conspiracy charge and his brother, Malik Ford, pleaded guilty to conspiracy, attempted murder and use of a handgun in commission of a felony.

Malik and Elijah Ford conspired with their other brother, Michael Ford, on March 13, 2016 to carry out the attack. Michael Ford opened fire on officers and in an attempt to deescalate the situation, Officer Jacai Colson was accidentally shot by another police officer.

All three brothers participated in the shootout, which was recorded by Malik and Elijah Ford. Malik Ford sent the video to WorldStarHipHop.com, an entertainment websites, and several others.

Malik Ford is facing a maximum 20-year prison sentence, while Elijah Ford is facing a maximum 12-year prison sentence. Their sentencing hearing is scheduled for May 4, 2018.
