Telvista, a Dallas-based call center outsourcing company, filed a Worker Adjustment and Retaining Notification in late July. The company contributes the layoff to a drop contracted services.
According to the Virginia WARN website, 222 workers will be impacted by the layoff, which is scheduled for September 30. Telvista was established in 1998 and opened the center at 119 Cane Creek Boulevard in Danville, Virginia in 2005.
The company announced in June 2016 that it would hire 150 employees by the end of the year. By July 2016, the company had an estimated 500 workers and planned to add another 150.
The remaining employees working on other contracts at the call center will not be impacted by the layoff.
